NEW Google My Business Insights Show How You’re Being Found
Recently Google has rolled out enhanced insights for Google My Business pages. When logged into GMB, you’ll now be able to see the total views to your GMB page, where visitors are coming from, and how they found your page.
Insights give you an inside look at how people find your business listing on the web. Because many customers find businesses on Google Search and Maps, Insights focus on how customers use Search and Maps to find your listing, and what they do once they find it.
Google Search vs Google Maps
Where are the visitors to your GMB page coming from? Google Search and Google Maps both send traffic to GMB pages, and now you’ll be able to see a breakdown of how many visitors are coming from which source.
Insights consists of six sections, each of which gives you a different way to understand how customers interact with your listing:
- How customers find your listing
- Where customers find you on Google
- Customer actions
- Driving directions requests
- Phone calls
Direct vs. Discovery
How are people finding your GMB page? At times people will find it by directly typing your business or brand name in the search bar. At other times, people may find it by searching for a related keyword. Now Google will show you a comparison between who found your page by searching for your name directly, and who discovered it by searching for a related keyword.
Google plans to introduce even more new insights to GMB pages in the near future.
