Google Business Profile (formally Google My Business) Launches Subjective Attributes In Insights

Google quietly said on Twitter that they launched “subjective attributes to provide more information in your insights tab.” Subjective attributes (e.g. whether your business is popular with locals) rely on the opinions of Google users who’ve visited your business. This might only work for cafe and restaurant types of businesses. “Customers of restaurants and cafes can submit subjective attributes to help you and their fellow customers,” Google wrote.

Now this data would be plotted in the Insights tab in Google Business Profile (formally Google My Business) so business owners can see how their customers subjectively attribute the qualities of their business. Google said the insights section for subjective attributes is what your business is known for.

Google wrote:

What your business is known for This section of Insights provides customers’ opinions of
your restaurant or cafe (e.g. cozy, romantic, or notable cocktails).

Since customers’ opinions are based on their experience, the information is subjective. It is considered to be valuable to other customers, as it describes the feel & ambiance for a place. Unless proven false, we won’t remove this information.
